10 Days Morocco Tour from Tangier

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Tangier and the “Blue City” of Chefchaouen

On the first day of your 10 days Morocco tour we’ll pick you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, also known as “the bride of the north.” Tangier is situated in the northwest, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Spartel. We’ll start by exploring this charming city, visiting the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel. You’ll have free time for lunch before we drive inland to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, with stops for panoramic views along the way. We’ll then drop you off at your accommodation for an overnight stay in a Chefchaouen hotel.

Day 2 : Chefchaouen – the Roman ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, take the opportunity to explore the charming alleyways of the blue city, Chefchaouen. Next, we’ll drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved mosaics, impressive pillars, and archways. After exploring the ruins, we’ll travel 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here, we’ll visit notable sites including the Bab Al-Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Finally, we’ll continue on to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a riad.

Day 3 : guided tour sightseeing Fes

After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Fes to explore the city. Fes is one of Morocco’s imperial cities and serves as a key cultural and religious hub.

Our day begins with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, followed by a tour of the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter the old Medina through the Blue Gate, or Bab Boujloud, with the help of a local guide. Highlights include the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University, which is the oldest university in the world.

Next, we’ll head to the Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah. From there, we’ll drive to an ancient fortress offering panoramic views of both the Medina and the city of Fes. Finally, we’ll return to your riad for the evening.

Day 4 : Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest- Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Sahara

Today, we drive to Ifrane “the Moroccan Switzerland” and Azrou passing by the Middle Atlas Mountains “Tizi n t’lghamt pass”. During our trip, we will have stops to take pictures, and have lunch in Midelt , then we continue our tour through Ziz valley, city of Errachidia, Erfoud, and after we reach the heart of Moroccan Sahara Desert Merzouga, you will have some rest then ride your camels and trekking to the deep desert. During our camel trekking we will catch the sunset between sands dunes. A delicious dinner in Sahara Desert camp and you will enjoy this night in desert tents with Berber drums music under the clear stary sky.

Day 5 : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia

After breakfast, we’ll spend the day exploring the Merzouga region, known for its stunning landscapes, including sand dunes, a wild lake, mining sites, fossil areas, and beautiful oases—perfect for various outdoor activities.

We’ll start with an off-road drive in Merzouga to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Next, we’ll visit a nomadic family in their handmade woven tent, where you can learn about their lifestyle while enjoying traditional Berber tea.

Our journey continues to Khamlia village, where you can experience the lively Gnaoua music and dance performances. The residents of this village hail from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll take a walk through a palm tree grove and then drive a short distance to see Merzouga’s wild lake, also known as the lake of flamingos.

Finally, we’ll return to Merzouga for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 6 Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Early in the morning, your camel guide will take you to watch what will may be the best sunrise of your life. After sunrise and breakfast, you will trek back to the hotel in Merzouga where you will find your driver. Then, you’ll leave to Rissani, we will visit the Markt in Rissani , a traditional town which was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuctou in Mali. Here you will see a lot of men hooded and women veiled, continuing to Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades valley.

Day 7 : Dades Valley – Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After having breakfast in the hotel, the day will start by visiting the beautiful rock formations of dades gorges. then drive along valley of roses to reach Kalaa M’gouna, and skoura, arriving to Oarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa and stop in the atlas film studios. then to the UNESCO world heritage site called “Kasbah Ait Benhaddou” classified since 1986. Ait Benhaddou Kasbah is one of many locations served as a natural decoration for many movies such as “Alexender, Gladiator, Babel…’’ and have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will drive to the red city of Marrakech passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Arrival to Marrakech and Drop off in your accommodation.

Day 8 : Guided tour sightseeing Marrakesh

After breakfast in riad, we start our journey sightseeing the city of Marrakech“the red city of Morocco”. We will visit the most important cultural and historical heritage. You will have great chance to explore Saadiyin Tomb, Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque (Tower). Moreover, your guide will take you to see Bahia square, the Souk of the city, and then you go to join the famous square of the medina where you will see and discover the fascinating serpent’s magician, “funny seminars” where some professional or humorous people tell fabulous and nice jokes. On the afternoon, you will have free time to walk around and discover other places of the city by yourself.

Day 9: Essaouira Day Trip

Essaouira, a quiet city refreshed by the sea breeze. On the way, we stop at an Argan oil cooperative. To learn how gold oil is produced using traditional techniques. Then walk to the fishing port of Essaouira, where you can see the famous blue fishing boats. Thereafter, explore some of the beautiful Essaouira art galleries scattered in the Medina. As well as strolling in the Medina of Essaouira, which can be explored at ease. Also wander on the ramparts with cannons on the seaside. Enjoy a seafood lunch in the harbor stalls or at a local restaurant. Finally return to Marrakech.

Day 10 : Casablanca airport

After breakfast, we pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakesh. Depending on your flight time, we drive to Casablanca, we might possibly visit the Hassan II mosque if we got enough time. Then drop you off at the airport. End of your 10 days Morocco holiday from Tangier.
