Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley

Your 4 days desert tour from Marrakech begins with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation. Departing Marrakech, we will journey through the stunning High Atlas mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. Throughout the drive, your friendly guide and driver will make stops at the most picturesque spots, and you can request halts whenever you wish.

Following a delightful lunch in either Ait Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate, our journey proceeds towards Dades Gorges through  Skoura and the enchanting Rose Valley. In Skoura’s lush oasis, you have the option to visit Amridil Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most impressive fortified villages. For those traveling during the spring season, we can also make a special stop to witness the valley in full bloom, adorned with a mesmerizing display of roses during this time of the year.

As we arrive at Dades Gorges, get ready to be amazed by the impressive rock formations often referred to as “monkey fingers”, while also relishing a panoramic view of the stunning Gorge. Finally, we will head to your hotel for relaxation, dinner, and a well-deserved overnight stay.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

Start your day with a delicious breakfast, and then take a scenic drive along the Dades and Todra Rivers, which are surrounded by palm groves and Berber villages. Your destination is the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, one of the most amazing canyons in the world! Afterward, head to the Merzouga desert.

Before reaching the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, our driver/guide will suggest visiting a traditional Berber shop. There, you can take free pictures wearing a Berber outfit! If you want, you can buy something, like scarves that are great for the desert or some souvenirs. Remember, it is not necessary to buy anything; the shop’s main purpose is to share the Berber culture. Just let your driver/guide know if you are not interested, and you can skip the shop.

Once you arrive in Merzouga, get ready for a camel ride into the desert to watch the sunset over the dunes and try sandboarding. Then, spend the night in a luxury desert camp, where you will enjoy a tasty dinner and experience the magic of the Sahara at night.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA ⇢ RISSANI ⇢ AGDEZ ⇢ OUARZAZATE

Today, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise if you wake up early. The spectacular display of colors can be witnessed from the nearest dune to your camp. Once you have had a delightful breakfast at the camp, you have two options for your journey back to the town of Merzouga: a camel trekking adventure or a comfortable 4-by-4 vehicle ride.

Just a short distance away from the town lies the village of Khamliya, renowned for its enchanting Gnawa music. Here, we will take a moment to immerse ourselves in the captivating sounds of this Moroccan music style. Afterward, our next destination is Rissani, an ancient city that holds historical significance as the foundation of the current ruling family of Morocco and an important stop along old caravan routes. If it happens to be Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, we will have the opportunity to visit the traditional Moroccan souk in the city.

From Rissani, our journey continues through the picturesque Draa Valley in Agdez, a truly charming sight. The road leads us to Ouarzazate, where we will arrive in the afternoon and settle into our accommodation.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

In the morning, depart Ouarzazate and return to Marrakech after making a visit to the Atlas Film Studios, which has turned the region into a filming location for numerous movies including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, and many others.

You will include many stops at the scenic Atlas Mountains and take more pictures of the traditional Berber villages along the way. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where the 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour will end.
